Stefaan G. Verhulst, PhD
Dr. Stefaan G. Verhulst is a leading voice in using data and technology for social good. He co-founded the Governance Laboratory (GovLab) at NYU and The DataTank in Brussels, where he holds leadership roles. As a research professor at NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering, he explores how data and AI can improve decision-making. He also serves as editor-in-chief of the open-access journal Data & Policy and advises expert groups for the European Commission and Eurostat. Named one of the top 10 academics in digital government, he’s a frequent speaker at global forums like TED and the UN World Data Forum, and regularly counsels public and private organizations on data stewardship.
